Danube Integrated System for MARking (DISMAR) is an operation of strategic imporance aimed at improving navigation on the Danube through modern and sustainable solutions. With a total budget of over €12.8 million, including €10.2 million from the European Regional Development Fund, the project is financed under Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme.
DISMAR project focuses on modernizing and optimizing river navigation by introducing cutting-edge, sustainable technologies. These include the use of GPS-based systems for precise positioning, eco-conscious equipment and a coordinated approach to river marking. The goal is to make the Danube safer and more efficient for transport while minimizing environmental impact.
By working together, Romania and Bulgaria demonstrate a shared commitment to smart infrastructure and sustainable regional development, contributing to a stronger and better-connected Danube corridor.
