L-TeN -Linking TEN through better connection between tertiary nodes Turnu Magurele and Levski for sustainable development of the area - ROBG-127

To improve the connection among core and comprehensive TEN-T networks using the tertiary nodes Turnu Magurele and Levski as “bridgeheads” for joint transport system.

What will happen?
- Organizing conferences at the beginning and end of the project;
- Publishing 16 press releases for promoting the project;
- Elaboration of information and publicity materials (billboards, leaflets, posters, roll-up banner);
- Setting up the traffic management system;
- Awareness campaign for the traffic management system;
- Setting up an integrated awareness system for traffic safety measures;
What will be the results (what is the contribution to the program)?
Programme outputs:
- 8,977 km total length of reconstructed or upgraded roads
- 2 joint mechanisms created (traffic management system and joint safety measures system)
Programme results: Cross border population (23,427 people: Turnu Magurele = 21,233 persons and Levski = 2,194 persons) served by modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T
Status
The project is under implementation, with the following results reported so far:
Services for project management, translation and interpretation and information and publicity have been contracted.
The conference for the beginning of the project was organized on 7th of June 2017 at Turnu Magurele headquarters, having 50 people participated (representatives of the two municipalities, stakeholders, along with local press journalists). Information and publicity materials have been prepared and disseminated to all participants.
LB has signed the works contract (value of 1,268,150 euro) for modernization of 1.909 km of roads in Turnu Magurele and within the reporting period has registered important progress (90%). During the monitoring visit it was signaled that the beneficiary finalized the works execution.
The contract for purchasing and installing the equipment for traffic management system was signed and the panels are installed, informative massages will be available until the end of august 2020.
B2 finalized the works execution for the modernization of roads in Levski Municipality (7.068 km upgraded).
Cross border population from Turnu Magurele and Levski is now served by the modernized infrastructure leading to TEN-T, which was modernized within the project.
