THE SECOND STRATEGIC PROJECT FINANCED BY INTERREG VI-A ROMANIA-BULGARIA PROGRAMME WAS SIGNED TODAY!
December 5, 2024We are very excited to announce that today, December 05, 2024, the financing contract for the strategic project Streamlining cross-border cooperation: Joint approach in disaster resilience (STREAM 2) was signed. The project is funded under the Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme.
With an implementation period of 48 months and a total budget of €24,330,679.26, of which €19,464,543.40 is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), this project represents an important step in strengthening safety and disaster response capacity in the Romania-Bulgaria cross-border area.
The project partners include the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of Romania, acting as the Project Leader, along with the "DOBROGEA" Emergency Situations Inspectorate of Constanța County, the Giurgiu Border Police Territorial Inspectorate, and Bulgarian partners: the Directorate General for Fire Safety and Civil Protection, the Academy of the Ministry of Interior, and the National Association of Volunteers in the Republic of Bulgaria.
The main objective of the project is to enhance the safety and protection of the population in the Programme area by improving and strengthening adaptation capacity to climate change and resilience to disaster risk prevention. This will be achieved through the establishment of cross-border disaster response and situational operations centers, capacity-building activities, and joint interventions by institutions responsible for emergency management.
