What is the purpose?
Specific Objective: 2.4 - Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches
The overall objective is to enhance the region’s capacity to adapt to climate change through institutional collaboration, sustainable environmental interventions, and public engagement. By integrating real-time data collection with community-driven adaptation measures, the project aims to transform climate resilience from a fragmented effort into a coordinated and evidence-based process.

Status
The project is currently in implementation.
- Implementation teams were established at the level of each project partner. The Project Steering Group (PSG) was set up through an online meeting organized in January 2026.
- The Communication Plan was developed and finalized. Dedicated sections for the project were created on the official websites of PP4 – IPJ DJ (https://dj.politiaromana.ro/ro/relatii-internationale/proiecte-europene/proiect-robg00349-ecofit-hard-imbunatatirea-comunitatilor-si-organizatiilor-pentru-tranzitia-la-schimbarile-climatice). The Opening Conference was organized by LP1 on 30 April 2026, gathering 50 participants, including representatives of all project partners, public authorities, relevant stakeholders, and media representatives. Visibility materials (140 sets, 1 roll-up banner, and 1 durable information plaque) were procured and distributed.
- Afforestation activities by PP2 (Northwest State Enterprise, Bulgaria): The procurement procedure was finalized and the contract for afforestation services covering 10.6 hectares was concluded.
- Băilești Center for Climate Adaptation Collaboration (PP4 - Dolj County Police Inspectorate): The procurement contract for modernizing the Centre was signed, and the works have already begun. They are estimated to be executed by the end of the summer of 2026.
- Oryahovo Center for Climate Change Adaptation (PP2): The contract was concluded for the inspection and acceptance of routine repair works, equipment, and furniture, ensuring the full operational functionality of the Centre for training activities, research, and stakeholder engagement.
