“Europe Is Here” – Event Dedicated to Europe Day in Călărași

On May 7, 2026, the Socio-Cultural Palace in Călărași hosted the event “Europe Is Here”, where, together with institutional partners from Romania and Bulgaria, we celebrated Europe Day!

 The event brought together 153 participants from Romania and Bulgaria, providing an excellent opportunity for dialogue and cooperation among public institutions, local authorities, educational organizations and cross-border partners.

The event was attended by representatives of local administration, emergency services, educational and cultural institutions, both from Romania and Bulgaria.

One of the highlights of the event was the exhibition of modern emergency intervention equipment presented by the Călărași Emergency Situations Inspectorate, acquired through European-funded projects within Interreg V-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme: RoBg-415, “Joint risk management and partnership in the border region Calarasi – Dobrich” and RoBg-481, “Efficient management in emergency situations in the cross-border region Calarasi-Veliko Tarnovo”.

The festive atmosphere was enriched by artistic performances delivered by the “Bărăganul” Folk Ensemble and students of the “Ștefan Bănulescu” Pedagogical High School, showcasing local traditions in a symbolic dialogue with the European spirit.

Through its activities and messages, the event “Europe Is Here” conveyed a strong message: Europe is built locally through cooperation, involvement and communities choosing to grow together.
