Monitoring Committee approves new projects on education and a strategic call for transport infrastructure!

On June 17, 2025, the Monitoring Committee (MC) of Interreg VI-A Romania–Bulgaria Programme convened to discuss and adopt a series of key decisions aimed at fostering RO-BG cross-border cooperation and sustainable development.

During the meeting, the MC approved the selection of 21 new projects under Priority 3: An Educated Region, Specific Objective 4.2 – Improving Equal Access to Inclusive and Quality Services in Education, Training, and Lifelong Learning through Developing Accessible Infrastructure.

These projects, with a total value of approximately €17 million, were submitted under Call 3, which closed on September 9, 2024. They focus on cross-border cooperation, joint training initiatives and investments in inclusive education and lifelong learning services.

The Committee also approved the Applicant’s Guide for the targeted call for operations of strategic importance (OSI) addressing the navigability and rail infrastructure, Call 6, Priority 1: A well connected region, Specific Objective 3.2 - Developing and enhancing sustainable, climate resilient, intelligent and intermodal national, regional and local mobility, including improved access to TEN-T and cross-border mobility.

The Applicant’s Guide and details about Call 6 will be made available shortly on our Programme website, allowing potential applicants to begin preparing their project proposals.

The decisions adopted by the Monitoring Committee illustrate the Programme’s continued focus on supporting sustainable growth, improving education and mobility and enhancing cross-border collaboration between Romania and Bulgaria.
