The European Commission adopts the Declaration on Bicycle Use

On April 2, 2024, the European Commission announced the adoption of the European Declaration on Bicycle Use, a document designed to promote and encourage cycling in Europe. The declaration is the result of several years of efforts by the European Cyclists' Federation (ECF) and other coalitions, supported by national and local cyclists' organizations in all EU Member States.
The declaration sets out an ambitious vision to make cycling a more popular and accessible mode of transport in Europe. Adopting this Declaration is an important step towards a greener, healthier and more sustainable future for Europe.
We remind you that the Interreg VI-A Romania - Bulgaria Program finances the development of cycling tourism in the Romania - Bulgaria cross-border region through Policy Objective 5 "A Europe closer to citizens, developing an Integrated Territorial Strategy around the EuroVelo route 6.
