Exciting Outcomes at the Annual Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Conference!
November 1, 2024On October 31, 2024, over 50 participants, including engaged citizens and key stakeholders, gathered for the Annual Conference of the Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme. Hosted in the cross-border community of Piatra Olt ( Olt County, Romania), at the beautifully restored Multicultural Center—a hallmark of the “Culture Green” project funded by the Interreg V-A RO-BG Programme—the event was both inspiring and informative.
This year’s conference highlighted the significant achievements and impactful projects of the Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme, shared by programme structures and project beneficiaries. Attendees watched with interest the success stories that showcased how cross-border partnerships are transforming the region.
Adding a unique perspective, the two Interreg Young Volunteers shared insights from their six-month experience with the Managing Authority, recounting the outcomes of the 2 recent consultation events held with students from the University of Ruse and the University of Constanta. These sessions, organized in partnership with the Managing Authority, gathered young people’s perspectives on shaping the RO-BG region’s future post-2027, proving the Programme’s commitment to fostering youth involvement.
The conference concluded with a lively performance by the young talents of the Folkloric Assembly Acidava from Piatra Olt, who delighted the audience with a spirited traditional folkloric dances, specific to their region. A press conference followed, providing an opportunity for dialogue with the media.
Broadcast live on YouTube, the event allowed participants to engage in meaningful discussions, expand their networks and reflect on the future of the Romania-Bulgaria region post 2027.
