2nd meeting of the Monitoring Committee for Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme
April 24, 2024The management structures of Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme organized yesterday, April, 23, 2024, in Pleven, Bulgaria, the 2nd meeting of the Monitoring Committee (MC) for Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme.
During this meeting, the following strategic importance decisions were taken by the Monitoring Committee members: the selection of the operations submitted under the second call for project proposals, financed under Priority 2- A greener region, Specific Objective 2.4- Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience, taking into account ecosystem-based approaches, namely one operation of strategic importance, project STREAM 2 - Streamlining cross-border cooperation: Joint approach in disaster resilience and two regular projects, as well as the selection of other two projects ( JEMS code project 177 and project 178) financed under Priority 2- A greener region, Specific Objective 2.7- Enhancing protection and preservation of nature, biodiversity and green infrastructure, including in urban areas, and reducing all forms of pollution. The assessment for the rest of the applications submitted under SO 2.7 is ongoing and the results of the selection process of these applications will be soon communicated.
Another important topic on the agenda of this meeting, discussed and approved by MC members, is the invitation of submission of the Governance project for supporting the Strategy Board responsible with the development and implementation of the Integrated Territorial Strategy for the Romania-Bulgaria cross-border area under Policy Objective 5 – “A Europe closer to citizens” selected within INTERREG VI-A Romania Bulgaria Programme. This governance project is meant to support the Strategy Board in fulfilling its main tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the Integrated Territorial Strategy, for the period 2024-2029.
As well, MC members discussed upon the Applicant’s Guide for the Open Call for the operations under PO 4, Priority 3: An educated region, Specific Objective 4.2 - Improving equal access to inclusive and quality services in education, training and lifelong learning through developing accessible infrastructure, including by fostering resilience for distance and on-line education and training (April 2024). This document, that was previously submitted for public consultation, was approved by the MC members and will be subject for the next call for proposals to be launched!
